CeoDash vs Databox
Databox is one of the most capable metric-dashboard tools around, with a huge integration library. But it was built for marketing teams and agencies. CeoDash is built for the CEO: a pre-built financial and operating view you do not have to assemble yourself.
Databox retired its Free plan (2026)
Databox sunsetted its Free plan in 2026 to focus on paid tiers, so there is no longer a $0 way in. CeoDash still has one: upload a CSV or Excel export and get a working executive dashboard without a card.

Where Databox is strong
- 100+ one-click integrations — the deepest library in the category
- A "Datawall" TV mode for office displays
- Strong marketing/agency focus with white-label client reporting
- Peer benchmarking against anonymized data — retired in April 2026
- Polished iOS and Android apps
- Shipped fast in 2026: MCP access, AI summaries on Databoards, and a Skills Marketplace
Where CeoDash is different
- Pre-built CEO view. CeoDash ships an opinionated executive dashboard you connect data to — no metric-picking or dashboard-building to get started.
- Real financial statements. P&L, cash flow, burn and runway are first-class in CeoDash. Databox reports on marketing and operating metrics rather than financial statements.
- AI over your financials. Both products added AI in 2026. Databox summarises dashboards; CeoDash reads your P&L and cash position — a weekly CEO briefing plus an AI CFO you can question about the numbers.
- Still free to start. Upload a CSV or Excel file and be live in ~20 minutes, then add direct integrations when you want them.

Lost Databox Benchmarks? Bring your peer comparisons here
Databox deprecated Benchmarks and Benchmark Groups on 6 April 2026. If that was how you answered "is this number good?", the answer left with it — dashboards still show your metrics, but nothing to judge them against. CeoDash takes a different route to the same question: instead of an anonymised cohort you have to reach critical mass to join, it scores your numbers against published SMB and SaaS operating bands — so the comparison works on day one, from a single upload.
- What you lost: anonymised peer cohorts and Benchmark Groups inside Databox.
- What you get here: your margins, growth and efficiency placed against published p25 / median / p75 bands for sub-$10M operators — no cohort to join, no minimum customer count.
- It reads the financials you already have: upload a P&L or an accounting export and the comparison is live — no metric-picking, no dashboard to build.
- Honest limit: these are published public medians, not anonymised peer data. If a like-for-like peer cohort is the requirement, say so — that is a roadmap question, not a claim we will fake.
