For PE operating partners
The same six numbers, from every company in the portfolio.
Portfolio reporting breaks on definitions, not effort. CeoDash gives each company a ready-made executive view and gives you the same standard KPI pack out of it — computed the same way everywhere, updated between board cycles rather than at them.
Why portfolio reporting is hard
Every company reports differently
One founder counts ARR with services in it, another nets out churn mid-month. The portfolio roll-up is arithmetic on numbers that do not mean the same thing.
The quarterly chase
Requests go out, spreadsheets come back late and in six different shapes, and someone on the deal team spends a week normalising them by hand.
You find out a quarter late
By the time a runway problem surfaces in a board pack, the window where a small intervention would have worked has usually closed.
The standard portfolio KPI pack
Every company reports the same six, on the same definitions. Where a company has not connected the underlying data yet, the pack shows the gap explicitly rather than a zero.
- ARR
- Annualised recurring revenue at period end — one definition across the portfolio.
- MRR
- Monthly recurring revenue, so month-on-month movement is visible between board cycles.
- Net burn
- Cash out minus cash in for the period, straight from the P&L and cash flow.
- Runway
- Months of cash left at the current net burn — the number that changes the agenda.
- Headcount
- People at period end, so cost growth can be read against revenue growth.
- Growth
- MoM and QoQ revenue growth, computed the same way in every company.
What the operating partner gets
A consistent pack per company on a cadence you set, with each figure carrying its period and its source — so a number in the roll-up can be traced back to where it came from instead of being taken on trust.
What the founder gets
Not another reporting obligation — an executive dashboard they actually use, with P&L, cash flow, burn and runway. The portfolio pack is a by-product of running the company, which is the only version of this that survives past two quarters.
